Faculty

Peter Bauer

 

Dr.Bauer received the Diplom degree from the Technical University of Munich, Munich, Germany, in 1984 and the Ph.D. degree from the University of Miami, Coral Gables, Florida, USA, in 1987. He is currently a Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering at the University of Notre Dame and is the Head of the Mobile Sensor Systems (MOSES) Laboratory.

He is the author or coauthor of over 130 technical papers and 06 book chapters. He served as an Associate Editor for the IEEE Transactions on circuits and systems ii (1989-1991, 2003-2005) and the Journal of Multidimensional Systems and Signal Processing (1989-1991) and recently served as Guest Associate Editor for a special edition of the IEICE Transactions on Information and Systems in 2005. He received the E.I. Jury Award from the University of Miami in 1987, the NASA Technical Innovator Award in 1992, Alexander von Humboldt Fellowship in 1997 and the University of Notre Dame Kaneb Center Best Teacher Award in 2005. He is a Fellow of the IEEE.

His research interests include digital signal processing and control, sensor and actuator networks, mobile wireless sensing, congestion control, evidential reasoning, evidential filtering and fusion, distributed mD systems, and stability theory of discrete-time systems.

Yuzhe Liu

Y. Liu received the B. Eng in Electrical Engineering from the Northwestern Polytechnic University, Xi’An, P.R. China, in 2000. He received the Master of Engineering Degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the National University of Singapore, Singapore, and the Institute of Infocomm Research (I2R), A-STAR, Singapore, in 2004. He is currently a Ph.D. candidate at the Department of Electrical Engineering, University of Notre Dame, IN. His research interests include circuit and system theory, digital signal processing, and multi-dimensional systems.
