Michelle Murphy received her B.S. in 1987 from Scripps College, majoring in Biology and Religion. She obtained her Ph.D. in Molecular Genetics under Dr. Joseph O'Tousa at the University of Notre Dame. Dr. Murphy joined the faculty at Notre Dame in May of 1993 as the Howard Hughes Program Coordinator in the Department of Biological Sciences. She teaches the Genetics and
