The Memorial Hospital Medical Explorers group aims to expand shadowing opportunities for Notre Dame undergraduates interested in medicine.  The group is designed mainly for sophomores and juniors due to the limited number of positions but it does have a couple members from the other classes.  Each member schedules to shadow a doctor at Memorial Hospital every week for about 3-4 hours for a different specialty. Then, upon graduation of the "sampling program," each student is paired with a resident and shadows the same resident doctor each week.  Membership in the club is competitive (and highly dependant on the essay portion) and the applications are taken generally twice a year.  Emails are sent out on both the SCPP and ALPP mailing lists as well as listed on the Health Professions group on InsideND.
