I'm an Edward Sorin Postdoctoral Scholar at the University of Notre Dame, where I earned my PhD in American history in 2006. My research focuses on nineteenth-century U. S. cultural, political, and religious history. I am currently completing a cultural biography of Thomas L. Kane, a nineteenth-century social reformer, abolitionist, and defender of religious minorities. See the accompanying pages for my vitae, my teaching experience and philosophy, and my research.
