MEP Alumni Network

Alumni involvement with the MEP

Engineering alumni have assisted the MEP by creating a means to contribute through the Alumni Advisory Board (AAB).

 

The MEP AAB was established in July of 2006 by Kevin Bethune (BSME 1998) and Sergio Lucero (BSAE 1995) in response to a call from the MEP for the MEP Alumni to assist with the realization of the MEP goals.

 

As a result, MEP alumni agreed to form under the following charter:

The Minority Engineering Program Alumni Advisory Board (AAB) will serve the MEP community by providing a meaningful conduit for alumni to channel their general outreach, advisory support, aid in retention, and access to professional networks.

Sample of AAB activities to date: Student Mentor Program Student Academic/Professional Preparation Retreats Champion student applications for permanent and internship positions Work with local ND alumni clubs to welcome students to NSBE and SHPE conferences Promote minority participation in IEP summer program Establish Notre Dame engineering presence at high schools (in progress) Facilitating design project experiences for MEP students (in progress)
