For more information about the facsimiles produced by the Akademische Druck- u. Verlagsanstalt, visit their website at www.adeva.com. This page displays the beginning of the eucharistic prayer, the Te igitur, which normally called for special ornamentation, involving an elaborate crucifixion scene in which the crucifix played the role of the intial capital T. Personified representations of the sun and the moon were commonplace in medieval manuscripts. The prayer itself is written here in golden uncial script. As is usual in early manuscripts, there is no word separation.
