Note the irregular edges of the map, reproduced on this facsimile. The depictions here seem merely schematic, with the distinctively red Red Sea, the oversized Mt. Sinai (top center), and the erroneous placement of Babylon in Egypt (left). Mt Sinai and Babylon were crucial to the understanding of the world at this time but nautically irrelevant.
