Mission Statement of the Medieval Club

Within the regulation of the University of Notre Dame du Lac, The Worshipful Company of Our Lady of the Lake is open to all undergraduate and graduate students and faculty members who are interested in learning about medieval society and its aspects therein. The Medieval club convenes once a month for regular club meetings and has sponsored lectures including the Book of Kells, medieval music, an excavation of a medieval Byzantine and medieval manuscripts and activities such as a Medieval Games Night, Latin Mass, a Madrigal Dinner and various other medieval meals. Members pay an annual knight's fee of the amount of $5.

We have been a very small organization, and are looking and hoping to grow in the coming years. We have planned such activities as working with Antostal, making excursions to nearby Renaissance Festivals, and more of what we have done in the past. We work in conjunction with the Program of Undergraduate Studies of the Medieval Institute in particular and we help support each other so that we may provide a more adequate means of learning that through our own experimentation.
