No stakes or supporting weights were used for the test. The prototype was placed on the ground and allowed to spin in the wind. The generator was connected to a 12V battery and the intelligence circuit (jpg). Wind speeds, measured with an anemometer, varied between 5 and 16 mph. For the above recordings, wind speeds were between 9 and 16 mph.

The turbine to generator gear ratio was 4.5:1. An average generator rpm of 311 is below the 600 rpm required for 20 watts at 12 volts using the Wind Stream Power 443541 DC generator (see chart). Wind speeds were lower than the nominal 15 mph described in the design problem. Higher wind speeds could have led to higher rpm.
