Welcome to the Assistrek Homepage

Assistrek is a team of six Mechanical Engineering seniors at the University of Notre Dame. The team is currently designing and prototyping an ambulatory assistance device. The goal of the developed ambulatory assistance device was to allow a patient with an injury to one leg to have the ability to travel over long distances and still be able to participate in areas that require a walking motion.  The initial stage of the project was to develop conceptual models for the proposed product, an ambulatory assistance device.  Through brainstorming sessions and reviewing the concept ideas, the team, Assistrek, selected a concept and analyzed key areas that needed to be engineered correctly.  From this analysis, the team purchased parts and assembled a working prototype model.
