Course Description

Text: Stewart, Calculus, 6th Edition, Chapters 1-6.

There will be three midterms and a final exam.

1/21: Questions from 2.2 due Wednesday now posted below.

1/23: The first tutorial will be held tomorrow (1/24) at 11:00 am in Building 1042 (see below).

1/30: There will be tutorial tomorrow (1/31). The first set of questions to assignment 3 have now been posted. In computing derivatives in section 3.2, you are not allowed to use shortcuts (i.e. power rule, quotient rule, product rule, etc) if you know them. Do not use a method unless I have taught in class.

2/5: As you may have noticed, I did not post any questions due for Wednesday, Feb 6 on the web yesterday. However, the questions assigned last week for the 6th are still due tomorrow. What I will do is post some more questions from 3.3 today that will be due next Wednesday, February 13th. Next week, being the week of the exam, no questions will be assigned on Monday. However, I will assign questions on Friday and after tomorrow's class that will be due on the 13th. I think that these questions will help prepare you for the exam. Feel free to get started on the new questions, as soon as you like :).

2/5 For question 54 in section 3.3 on assignment 3, you need to know the definition of the normal line (see page 143 in the book).

2/8: Review Session: Hayes-Healy 125 Monday 4-5:30.

2/19: I have a dentist appointment tomorrow (2/20) morning. May be late for office hours.

2/22: I will be out of town from 2/26-3/3. OH on 2/27 and 2/29 are canceled. Matt Rissler will be covering the class on those days.

Exams

There will be three midterms and a final exam. The midterm exams will be held in the usual class period. The location of the final exam will be announced by the instructor.
