MBA Net Impact/Community Partners

Net Impact is an international non-profit organization whose mission is to positively impact society by strengthening burgeoning leaders. Our chapter acclimates current MBA students with social responsibility opportunities on campus and in the local community. This allows students to make a positive difference in society and to gain experiences that will transfer to their future careers.

Net Impact International denotes "Service Corps" as the umbrella for consulting- and other experiential, outreach-based activities of Net Impact MBAs.

The Notre Dame MBA Net Impact Service Corps is an innovative approach to community-based learning and professional skill development for MBA students. Net Impact allows MBA students to use their business skills in partnership with local organizations.

MBA students utilize data collected through extensive interviews with local corporate and nonprofit service executives with the objective of facilitating mutually beneficial partnerships between companies and not-for-profits with shared missions and commitment, and to coordinate direct service opportunities for classmates through NI and other extracurricular activities. The project is a unique, fresh approach to service and skill development.

MBA Net Impact Service Corps includes:

  •  Team consulting projects meeting business challenges of local nonprofits
  •  Course-based projects
  •  Networking with local corporate leaders
  •  The NI Board Fellows program - select MBA students are appointed to visiting board positions with local NFPs

Current projects include examining and providing recommendations to enhance intake processes at the Sr. Maura Brannick Health Center, completing a feasibility analysis for relocation of a fair-trade/artisan products store, and developing strategies for enhanced communication, organizational structure and staff retention at a behavioral health facility.
