A History of McGlinn Hall!
Constructed in 1997 through the contributions of Terrence and Barbara McGlinn, McGlinn Hall is one of the newest dorms at the University of Notre Dame. The Angels of Knott Hall (now a male residence) moved into McGlinn in the Fall of 1997 and quickly established the dorm as one full of spirit and pride. It joins Keough, O'Neill, and Welsh Family Halls on the West Quad- sometimes called the "Suburbs" because of the modern amentities of air conditioning, elevators, and the largest rooms on campus. McGlinn enjoys a convenient location- only a brief walk to the bookstore, athletic fields, South Dining Hall and Reckers.
Though it is a relatively new dorm, McGlinn lacks nothing in tradition. Whether attending football pep rallies in signature green togas, scoring touchdowns for the championship in interhall flag football, or even constructing a neon boat for the Fisher Regatta, the McGlinn Shamrocks make sure that their presence is felt throughout the Notre Dame campus. Each year, the Shamrocks put on Casino Night in the spring as our signature event. We also have several dances, including Set-up Your Roommate Dances (SYR's) with a theme. Overall, living in McGlinn Hall is a truly awesome experience where great friendships and memories are made to last a lifetime.
The Shamrocks are planning to make this year, the 2012-2013 academic year, the best year yet!

"May your thoughts be as glad as the shamrocks, may your heart be as light as a song, may each day bring you bright, happy hours that stay with you all the year long." ~Irish Blessing
