Research Interests
My research interests lie in the fields of Lie theory, Poisson geometry, integrable systems on coadjoint orbits, and algebraic group theory. My recent work describes polarizations of regular adjoint orbits in gl(n) and constructs polarizations of certain generic orbits in orthogonal Lie algebras. In both cases, this is accomplished by using a completely integrable system derived from the Gelfand-Zeitlin algebra of the universal enveloping algebra. I am particularly interested in using techniques from algebraic group theory to describe the geometry of these polarizations. I am also pursuing connections between this work and deformation quantization, mathematical physics, as well as applied matrix theory.
