The Ciphergen Surface Enhanced Laser/Desorption Ionization (SELDI) instrument is a time-of-flight
mass spectrometer. This instrument incorporates modified surface chemistries on the sample plates
for increasing the selectivity of the MALDI experiment. A variety of methods are available to allow
selective detection of targeted proteins and peptides from complex biological matrices.
