The JEOL JMS-AX505HA Mass Spectrometer
has been in use in the MS Facility since December 1991. It has a mass range of 2,300 Daltons at a
full accelerating voltage of 3 kV and an ultimate resolution of 25,000. It is equipped with
EI, CI, FAB, APCI, and ESI modes of ionization. It is capable of performing GCMS, LCMS, and
linked-scan experiments. Frequent exact mass measurements are made with this instrument in
EI and FAB modes. The data system consists of JEOL's XWindows software operating on an HP B180L
Unix-based computer system. Visit
