"Contributions, Controversies, and Continuing Challenges in the Worlds
of Consumer Protection and Competition"
May 28-30, 2009
Washington, DC
The 2009 Marketing & Public Policy Conference (MPPC) will be held in Washington, DC at the historic Madison Hotel. The hotel is conveniently located in the Northwest area, providing easy access to major Washington sites and attractions.
This conference is the premier event for marketing scholars and practitioners interested in topics related to social and public policy. It brings together an international roster of academics, marketing practitioners, government officials, consumer representatives, legal professionals and other interested parties to discuss current issues and research results pertaining to public policy issues in marketing.
This year we are celebrating the 20th Anniversary of the Marketing & Public Policy Conference. This provides us a natural point to examine that which has changed in the marketing and policy environment over the years (e.g., the advent of the Internet, powerful developments in globalization). We thus anticipate dedicating a small portion of the conference to examination of advances and possible regresses on significant policy issues over time (e.g., regulatory actions and the consumer environment). During this conference we will also explore some key emerging topics for the future.
