Theologians contribute to new Aquinas study

“The Theology of Thomas Aquinas,” edited by Joseph P. Wawrykow, associate professor of theology at the University of Notre Dame, and Rik van Nieuwenhove, lecturer in theology at Mary Immaculate College in Limerick, Ireland, recently was published by the University of Notre Dame Press.
In addition to essays by Wawrykow and fellow Notre Dame theologians Rev. David B. Burrell, C.S.C., Rev. Thomas F. O’Meara, O.P., and Jean Porter, the book includes contributions by Bruce D. Marshall, Herwi Rikhof, Rev. Gilles Emery, O.P., Harm Goris, D. Juvenal Merriell, Rudi A. te Velde, Paul Gondreau, Liam G. Walsh, Carlo Leget, Thomas Prügl, Paul O’Grady, Eugene F. Rogers, Jr., and Rik Van Nieuwenhove.
These scholars of diverse nationalities and perspectives examine the teachings of Aquinas on the Trinity, creation theology, the theory of analogy, anthropology, predestination and human freedom, evil and original sin, Christology and grace, soteriology, eschatology, sacramentology, ecclesiology, moral theology, the relation between theology and philosophy, and scriptural exegesis.
