Purpose and Current Activities of SOER
PURPOSE: SOER was formed to discuss options and offer recommendations for making electronic resources accessible to library users through various pages in the Library web structure. The group was also charged with establishing some initial guidelines for further web development in this area. The initial focus of SOER was to explore subject access in the following areas: the database web pages, the ejournals web page, the internet sites web page, and the subject specialists web pages.

MEMBERSHIP: Membership in SOER is to be drawn from the Working Group on Bibliographic Access to Electronic Resources (WGBAER) and the Web Management Team (WMT). Current members are: Cheri Smith (chair), Mary Lehman, Tom Lehman, Mark Dehmlow, Carole Richter, Charlotte Ames, Laura Fuderer, Eric Morgan, Linda Sharp and Kathryn Ryan-Zeugner, Sherri Edwards, Dan Marmion.

CURRENT ACTIVITIES: SOER is working on improving our Electronic Resources Gateway. This includes working on user studies of the use of the Gateway and in finding eresources. We are also looking at integrating the work flow of getting information into the catalog and into the gateway.
