Mark Dehmlow
Employee Recognition Winner 2002
This honoree has earned individual praise, applause at Divisional
meetings, and multiple nominations for recognition both as an
individual employee and as a part of various teams. He has been
described as prompt, knowledgeable, and collegial and as a “driven
soul in terms of creating user-friendly access to databases
and simplifying complexities.
He has been with Library little over a year, but has already
had an enormous impact in improving user access to electronic
resources. This year, he was nominated both for his outstanding
ongoing service – which incorporates listening to in-house
users, taking responsibility for following up on problems until
they are resolved, traveling to branch locations to offer on-site
training, and producing well-organized and understandable statistics
and for his collaborative work on special projects, such as
his work with Bill Sill and Ken Kinslow to develop ILL forms
that “fill themselves out” and his efforts on committees,
such as the e-journal locator task force.
For those who use electronic serials and databases,
this individual’s name is well known – one of this
Library’s Great Enablers – Mark Dehmlow.
