Diane Kennedy
Employee Recognition Winner 2002
Our first honoree is sensitive to the needs of both library
users and library staff. Although her time is divided between
two Departments, she is so responsive and productive that each
Department seems to think that she works fully for them. She
is described as one who “is always available, anticipates
needs, solves problems efficiently, stays on top of her area
of expertise, and deals with emergencies without losing her
cool”.
Her position description requires that she “provides
effective, front-line computer hardware and software support
and service”. She is honored today, not for meeting this
responsibility, but for the way in which she meets it. Whether
she is introducing new public work station configurations, resolving
PC failures, or helping individual staff with label printing
problems, she is perseverant and productive as well as being
positive and cheery. Indeed she is known to whistle while she
works.
Today we honor a person who makes the difficult easy...from
the Departments of Reference and Resource Delivery...Diane Kennedy.
