Joni Kanzler
Employee Recognition Winner 2001
This honoree is not a quiet, back room sort. Indeed, this individual
is committed to raising the Library's visibility. During her short
time here, she has initiated a number of print and web based communication
channels to heighten student and faculty awareness of library services
and collections.
Her budget requests are among the library's most unusual. Last
year, she asked for funds for pizza parties, magnets, candy, balloons,
mini foot balls, and wireless computers. She will sell the library
to any audience - alumnae, Advisory Council members, new faculty,
formal and informal student groups. Her favorite target is the freshmen
class. She has worked tirelessly to make our first year instruction
session a hands-on and course-pertinent experience.
No faculty member, student, or staff person can talk 5 minutes
with this librarian without realizing that she is on a mission.
This award recognizes a person committed to helping others recognize
the library's resources - our Coordinator of Instructional Services
- Joni Kanzler.
