This week, we met with the entire class on Monday night. We learned what each group is planning on implementing for their project. We discussed our scale for the group and were asked questions, mainly relating to the competitive nature (or lack thereof) of our project.
After that, we, the students, met twice during the week to attempt to discern milestones and a timeline for those milestones. We also discussed extra equipment needs.
We came up with 12 milestones which is a good number for us. We have two different implementations of a scale to construct and our plan, as outlined in the timeline, is to complete any Lego work before Fall Break and do the documentation chores in the week following Break. We feel we have set out a good plan and, with proper execution, we will have a stellar project.
Extra equipment we discussed getting was varied. We need some springs with different flexibility in order to get one that works best with the hanging spring we plan to implement. We also need some string in order to move our light sensor vertically.
Finally, we met with Dr. Kogge to get his suggestion for our timeline/milestones. He suggested a few more thoughts and we generally agreed that we had a good plan. We knew we were on the road to a successful project.
