Prototype
The prototype will provide a model 'dragster' and allow testing of the
track, timing system and concepts put forth in this proposal. It will
be built from the MIT Lego Kit and provide a model for students
involved in the competitions to follow. The materials for the
prototype are intentionally limited to keep the design from getting
out of control and to keep costs for multiple kits down.
To car itself will need to be structurally stable enough to safely
support the motherboard and the batteries. The transmission and
sensing equipment will also need to be housed securely in the
chassis. Aesthetically, the car must look fast and mean.
