The revamping of Notre Dame's introductory engineer course offers the College of Engineering an opportunity to break into new educational grounds. A class that so strays so far from standard teaching methods will of course create controversy. But, the benefits to the students will be tremendous. Not only will they be part of a new wave of educational methodology that emphasizes effort over results but they will also gain invaluable insights in to the world of interdisciplinary work unattainable for most of the rest of their college careers. This class will be an experience most will never forget and cherish for a long time after.
