The purpose of this project is to design a machine that digs in loose
sand/dirt. Awards will be given for teams with the deepest, widest and
most 'stable'
holes. Any method for digging is allowed, from a mechanized
shovel to a complex drilling system and everything in between. Key
issues in the project will be designing the system to extract the
sand and move the sand to a pile without collapsing the structure.
