Social network services and FaceBook
A social network service is a web-based system that provides a framework for online communities. It provides ways for members to interact and share information using messaging and discussions. Users typically have a customized self-description page, and there are clear ways to invite new users and indicate who is your "friend."
Use in teaching & learning
Instructors can use an online social network as a communication tool. Students can create a FaceBook "group" as a way for project teams to stay in touch.
NotreDame info
FaceBook is the social network preferred by Notre Dame students, but it is not officially supported by the University.
