The University of Notre Dame invites forty outstanding Latino students to participate in a stimulating leadership seminar the summer before their senior year. Through a series of presentations, discussions, and experiences this seminar will explore the role of Latinos in US society. Students will examine how their values and experiences interact with political, economic, and social realities to produce new avenues for effective Latino leadership. The seminar will develop a strong commitment to community service derived from the values of Latino culture and of the Catholic social tradition.

All program expenses including round trip transportation to the campus are covered by the University. If selected, the only expense to the student is a $150 non-refundable confirmation fee.

The Latino Community Leadership Seminar is hosted by Notre Dame’s Institute for Latino Studies and Office of Pre-College Programs. Led by academic directors Allert Brown-Gort and Carmen Macharaschwili, along with an impressive group of ND faculty, guest lecturers, and students, the seminar will provide a complete Notre Dame experience. Students will stay in campus residence halls and have access to the academic, recreational, and spiritual resources available to ND undergraduates. One college credit will be offered to all participants upon completion of the program.
