Lord Goff, Clynes Chair Visitor

Before being appointed to the bench, Lord Goff had a distinguished career
as a barrister and Queen's Counsel, 1956-75. He became a judge of the High
Court in 1975, serving for seven years before being appointed to the Court
of Appeal in 1982. In 1986 he was created a Law Lord, serving as Senior
Law Lord 1996-98. He is the co-author of The Law of Restitution. In
addition to his academic and judicial career, he has played a significant
role in introducing the concept of comparative law to the United Kingdom.

Deepening the Doctrine: The Development of Catholic Moral Teaching

JUDGE NOONAN TO GIVE ERASMUS LECTURES
U.S. Circuit Judge John T. Noonan Jr. will deliver the fourth annual Erasmus Lectures at the University of Notre Dame at 5 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays from Sept.23-Oct.16. The eight lectures in the series, entitled "Deepening the Doctrine: The Development of Catholic Moral Teaching," will be given in the Notre Dame Law School's court room.
