When the State Stops Parenting: Difficulties Faced by Youths Aging Out of Foster Care

Dr. Amy Dworsky of Chapin Hall at the University of Chicago will discuss her research on the difficulties faced by youth aging out of the foster care system. Dr. Dworsky's research not only explores the hardships teens experience when dumped into the adult world without a contact person or a safety net, but it investigates potential avenues for reform. Dr. Dworsky plans on reviewing her findings and sharing her opinion regarding the implementation of necessary reforms.
