Knott Hall Athletics

Notre Dame's rich athletic tradition reflects our commitment to the growth of the whole person. RecSports (The Office of Recreational Sports at the University of Notre Dame) extends this commitment to the entire student body, offering a competitive intramural athletic program unmatched by any other university in the world.

Interhall Football

Notre Dame offers the only collegiate full-pad intramural football league in the country. Founded in the days of Knute Rockne, Interhall Football allows Notre Dame men the unique opportunity to continue playing football—a sport integral to the culture of Notre Dame. In 2000, NFL Films produced a documentary about the program, featuring Knott Hall's first interhall championship.

"It is such an unbelievable opportunity for Notre Dame students," remarks Knott Hall QB Dylan Walter (Class of 2013). "The importance of football here [at Notre Dame] goes without saying. To be able to keep playing—to play the sport we all love—that is, without a doubt, one of the best things about this place."

Interhall Hockey

Knott Hall's hockey team is consistently one of the more competitive teams in the league. In 2011, Knott Hall defeated Zahm Hall in the interhall championship game.

"The sport of hockey is growing here at Notre Dame," says Knott Hall Captain Mick Hammock (Class of 2013). "This is being seen not only at the varsity level, but also at the intramural level."

On weeknights, usually as late as 11pm, Juggerknotts pour into Compton Arena to support our boys on ice.

Other Sports

Knott Hall also fields intramural teams in baseball, basketball, soccer, volleyball, track and field, cross country, competitive eating, and Super Smash Brothers.
