Experiencing The World (ETW) Fellowships
Application Process
A complete application includes four copies of each of the following:
(Please be certain that your name and project title appear at the top of each document.)
- A two-page, double-spaced project proposal (minimum margins one inch top, bottom, and sides; minimum type size 10 points or 12 characters per inch). The project description should include details about your proposed work during this time, the length of time you intend to spend on the project (both in country and upon return), and an explanation of how the project fits with your long-term academic goals.

Organization description (If you intend to work with a specific organization, please include detailed information about the organization.)

Proposed travel itinerary and schedule
- Detailed budget (download this form) for anticipated expenses incurred during the project period, including travel, food and lodging, and other expenses (form provided).
In addition, the application should include:

The application form.

An Official University transcript (Click here for transcript request info).
Courses for the current semester should be included.

Two letters of recommendation (at least one should be from a Notre Dame faculty member). Each letter should be submitted in a sealed, signed envelope with the application materials or sent directly by the recommender to the Kellogg Institute.
For your convenience, a checklist (download it) is available to assist you with the application process. Please do not include the checklist when submitting your application.
Students currently studying abroad: It is YOUR responsibility to ensure that the appropriate number of copies are delivered to the Kellogg Institute by the deadline.
Levels of Support
Funding is available for a variety of project costs, including research materials and assistance as well as travel. Individual awards will not exceed $4,000, and proposals will be considered for any amount below this figure. Applicants are required to notify the Kellogg Institute of any funding received from another source; in some cases the Program may adjust the amount of its award. Undergraduates are eligible for only one ETW Fellowship.
