Party Brazilian Style with Carnaval!

For dancing, fabulous costumes, and live samba music in a family-friendly environment, don’t miss the Kellogg Institute’s 12th annual Brazilian Carnaval!
The festivities begin at 8 pm on Friday, February 12 at the South Dining Hall on campus at the University of Notre Dame. Admission is free and the event is open to the public.
This year’s Carnaval, a Brazilian celebration of Mardi Gras, will feature the samba and axé music of Chicago Samba. Directed by Moacyr Marchini, Chicago Samba features Brazilian musicians who have performed together for almost 20 years. Professional Brazilian dancers will perform and teach steps to a variety of traditional and popular Brazilian rhythms.
The event is sponsored by the Kellogg Institute for International Studies, and cosponsored by the Latin American Studies Program, the Institute for Latino Studies, Catering by Design, the Brazil Club, the Portuguese Language Club, the Department of Romance Languages and Literatures, and the Department of Transportation Services at the University of Notre Dame; WVPE Radio, Microtel Inn and Suites, and AudioBahn Productions, LLC.
Directions to Carnaval
Public parking is available in the South D6 parking lot, accessible from State Road 933 via Dorr Road (by WNDU). The D6 parking lot is on the right side just before the gate. For your convenience, passenger can be dropped at the Main Circle at the end of Notre Dame Avenue.
