I am the Associate Director of the Kaneb
Center for Teaching and Learning where I assist faculty with the selection and implementation
of technology tools to improve teaching and learning. The Kaneb
Center offers workshops
and individual consultation on the integration of technology for teaching
and learning and collaborates with faculty to develop multimedia applications
and web based projects. We develop interactive multimedia projects projects
using a variety of development tools. An example of a small
project created with Macromedia Flash is the eliptical motion simulation. We
are also exploring the uses of digital video for teaching and learning and
have been working with QuickTime Streaming and Quicktime VR. The Kaneb Center Learning
Technology Lab collaborates
with Educational Technologies and Services to provide technology intergration
assistance to faculty.
In addition to my work in the Kaneb Center I teach "La telenovela: la
historia, el significado cultural y la producción estudiantil" a course
listed in Film Television and Theatre, Latino Studies, Latin
American Studies and Computer Applications. In the past I've taught Advanced
Multimedia Development and Intro Multimedia Devleopment for the Computer Applications
Program.
In addition, I'm a member of the Migration Working Group and was the director,
videographer and editor for Project Mexico Immersion: Confronting
Transnational Migration, a short documentary film (22 minutes ) that examines
the relationship between Plymouth Indiana and Santiago Capitiro Mexico.
I hold an AS in General Science from Ocean
County College, and a BS in Marine Biology, MS in Science Education and
Ed.S. in Science Education from Florida Institute
