Everyone is welcome! No affiliation with the University of Notre Dame is required to attend. We do not meet during the summer yet, but we hope to eventually. For the Fall 2003 semester, we are meeting every Sunday from 4pm until about 6. We meet on the Notre Dame Campus. The exact location depends on the weather and time of year. Meeting are announced from the nd-juggling mailing list. The places that we currently meet are:
The South Quad is very beautiful and there's a decent amount of other activities going on there too. Check out the live South Quad Cam. Maybe we're there right now!
We only meet outdoors when the weather allows and is not too windy. You can get a Notre Dame forecast here. If we must meet indoors, ask the person at the desk of the Rockne Gym where we are. I think the gym charges non-students a few bucks to use the facility.
What do we do? At meetings we juggle, unicycle, diabolo, devil stick, yo-yo, boogie board, stiltwalk, chat, meet people, etc. Sometimes we might watch a juggling video if it's raining or snowing. We're planning on making one or two trips to a convention this year. And, if you are really ambitious, we get plenty of offers to perform on stage!
What sort of people show up? All kinds. Typical members look like this.
Juggling with people is much more fun than by yourself. In addition to passing, there are all sorts of games that can be played: endurance contests, volleyball, J-U-G-G-L-E-R, combat, etc.
You don't need equipment to join us. Historically we have an open-prop policy. If you have stuff, great! Bring it out. Sometimes if we have a large turnout, we run low on balls. Eventually most members will want to purchase their own props. Tennis balls work okay and cost basically nothing.
There's a club e-mail list to inform members of meeting times and places and other important information. If you'd like to get on the list, contact us.
Where are we? Here are directions, maps of South Bend, and a campus map which shows exactly where the meetings are held. For more information on the Juggling Club's meetings, contact one of our members.
