Teaching
| Dr. Joerg Kliewer received the
Diploma Degree (M.S.) in Electrical Engineering from the Hamburg University of
Technology, Hamburg, Germany,
in 1993 and the Dr.-Ing. degree (Ph.D.) in Electrical Engineering from
the University of Kiel, Kiel,
Germany, in 1998, respectively. From 1993 to 1998 he was a research
assistant at the University of Kiel, Germany. In 1996
he spent five months at the Image
Processing Lab, University of
California, Santa Barbara, as a visiting researcher. Since 1999 he
is with the Faculty
of Engineering, University of Kiel, Germany, as a Senior Researcher
and
Lecturer.
In 2004 he was visiting the University
of Southampton, U.K., for one year, and since 2005 he is with the University of Notre Dame,
IN, as a Visiting Assistant Professor on leave from the University of
Kiel. His current research interests are in the area of signal
processing for communications applications and include joint source and
channel coding, error correcting codes, and network coding. Dr.
Kliewer is a Senior
Member of IEEE and acts as a
regular reviewer
for several IEEE journals. |
