Postdoctoral Research Associate

Triangle Universities Nuclear Laboratory and Duke University, USA

Dear Colleagues:

Triangle Universities Nuclear Laboratory (TUNL) and the Department of Physics at Duke University seek a postdoctoral Research Associate with strong interest and experience in nuclear structure and nuclear reaction studies using neutron and gamma-ray beams. TUNL produces the world's most intense and highly polarized monoenergetic pulsed neutron beams in the low-energy regime. Key instruments for this research include the TUNL High-Intensity Gamma-ray Source (HIGS), a tandem Van de Graaff accelerator and an array of HPGe planar and segmented clover detectors. The group is currently involved in application motivated research activities derived from basic research in nuclear science. Other important components of our research program are studies in nuclear structure and nuclear astrophysics using the quasi-monoenergetic gamma-ray beams at the HIGS facility. More details can be found at http://www.tunl.duke.edu/groups/nnsa. This research is funded by DOE's Office of Nuclear Physics and by the National Nuclear Security Administration.

Applicants should submit a curriculum vitae, a brief statement of present research activities, and should have three letters of recommendation mailed to:

Prof. Anton Tonchev
