The Nuclear Physics Group at the Universidad Complutense of Madrid (GFN-UCM)
is seeking competitive applicants for a "Juan de la Cierva" post-doc position.
The successful candidate will be involved in the design study of the new
accelerator-based Underground Nuclear Astrophysics facility at the Laboratorio
Subterráneo de Canfranc (LSC). This project is a common endeavour of several
Spanish Nuclear Physics and Astrophysics research groups. The successful
applicant will work on the technical design of the underground facility,
including advanced simulations for the accelerator and shielding. He/she will
also be involved in the group's nuclear physics experimental activities.
Juan de la Cierva positions are of three-year duration and are
open to international researchers holding a PhD after 1 September
2006. The gross salary is of the order of 25 k€/year. The selection
is performed by and independent board, and it is based on the candidate's
CV. The applications are handed in by the Spanish Research Centres,
Universidad Complutense in this case, after approval by the local
research group.
