Permanent lecturer position in Nuclear Physics - CNRS Research Chair

A permanent junior position is open in Orsay for a researcher with interest in the structure of nuclides far from stability. The CSNSM-Orsay group is involved in experimental programs at ALTO-Orsay, CERN-ISOLDE, Legnaro-AGATA, ANL-GAMMASPHERE, JYFL-SAGE, JINR-GABRIELA, & RIKEN, measuring various nuclear properties: moments, level lifetimes, masses, etc. The successful candidate will have solid post-doctoral experience with an excellent publication record, using any of the following techniques:

- nuclear spectroscopy
- prompt- or delayed-gamma-ray spectroscopy (Ge or LaBr3)
- trapped-ion mass spectrometry
- nuclear polarization with a dilution refrigerator

Lecturing duties (64 hours/year) accompany this post at either undergraduate or graduate level in the subjects of fundamental and subatomic physics. Knowledge of the French language is recommended.

Orsay is a suburb of Paris and can be reached by public transit in 40 minutes (RER-B).
