John's Birthday and Easter

Easter this year fell on April 11, two days after John's 24th birthday.  Ruth (Rebecca's youngest sister who is a freshman at Northwestern College
in Orange City, Iowa) had a five day weekend, and rather than stay in the dorm by herself she got a ride to see us in Indiana.

On Thursday night, after  Ruth arrived,  we piled some  left-over cake  with 24 candles.

All dressed up for Easter, people started taking pictures.  Note John's new shirt, recently completed for the occasion.  In the afternoon we made
disastrous attempts at flying kites.  Finally, a much revised version seemed promising, though by that time the wind was almost dead.  Here, the
kite bends slightly to a breath of air.
