Before.

After.

Big Brother William came into the room and immediately asked “Baby, hold?”  So with delight in his eyes he

held his brother.  His delight delighted us.

How wonderful to have one of those enormous, self-sufficient babies that lives in the nursery in the clear plastic bucket! Here David has his

hearing checked, while the nurse tries in vain to calm him with an improvised pacifier. She succeeded in getting him through one ear, but he

refused to go on to the other until after lunch.

Rebecca was bright-eyed all afternoon.

Puffy-eyed newborn: David about six hours after birth, supported on Mommy’s knee.

Big brother continues to take an interest, this time successfully consoling squalling David while spelling Daddy, who was called on to help

Mommy back into bed.

This picture, taken at just over two days old, catches David in a particularly alert moment.

Later that afternoon we went home. This is a remarkably fast recovery from a C-section, at least according to our experience.
