While dining with Kelsey, Rebecca’s Cousin, we discovered that she had never made a snowman, so during the snow squalls
on the night of March 2, we built this giant snowman. A good start to what we hope will be a long and distinguished career.

Eight days later, the snow was melting. Feeling spring coming on, we pull out William’s Christmas Fire truck. He still doesn’t
care to pedal the huge thing, preferring the awkward method of propulsion by feet pushing the ground.

Daffodils pushing up through the snow.

March was in like a lion, but it went out like a lamb. By March 12, the snowman had seen better days.
His tortured body has beautiful lines, however.

Speaking of lambs, this is the
ugliest baby you ever saw. If it were a pig you’d think this was out of
cake for out friends’ baby shower on March 24. It will be a girl, not a lamb.

Our friends Joshua and Holly Robinson with their baby, Ephraim, came to visit the same weekend. They didn’t come to visit
us, so much as
excited to have them nearby. The day was warm even by the lake. We’d have gone swimming if the water had been warmer.

But we had fun on the shore. William was very independent on the sand. He ran around gathering rocks and throwing them
in the water. He also helped John excavate.

William really wanted to help mow the lawn, so we rigged up a system. This was the first mowing this season.

Progress.
