JEC would like to thank everyone that came to the Christmas party in December! Here's what JEC is currently working on:
-Early Admit Weekend is February 4th and 5th. The JEC is currently busy working to prepare events and activities for the high school students who are coming to visit. Activities include a student panel Q&A, class visits, engineering challenge, lab tours, and a tour of the newly opened Stinson-Remick Hall of Engineering.
-Engineering Week is February 22-26. Get ready for an exciting week of Magnetic Monday, Transistor Tuesday, While-Loop Wednesday, Thermodynamic Thrusday, and Free Body Friday! (Activities are TBA, but the tentative plan includes fun games like dodge ball, Mario Kart 64, and Engineering Assassins!)
-JEC Officer elections will be held in March. If you are interested in holding a position next year, please don't hesitate to contact us at jec@nd.edu. More information will be posted closer to the election.
The JEC holds monthly meetings during the first week of each month. These meetings will usually take place in the 217 Cushing (EG Lounge) at 8 p.m. (after the conclusion of the SWE meeting). All are welcome to attend and contribute input at the meetings, especially representatives from the other clubs within the College of Engineering. If you would like to receive email notifications of these meetings, contact jec@nd.edu with your information. You may also send pressing issues to this address for consideration by the JEC outside of regular meetings.
If you have any comments or suggestions on the website, please e-mail Jessica Riese (jriese@nd.edu) with your input. The JEC is committed to listening to what the other engineering clubs at Notre Dame have to offer!
what is the jec?
The Joint Engineering Council (JEC) acts as the umbrella organization for all of the professional and honor societies at Notre Dame, and serves to represent the student body in the College of Engineering. Events such as Industry Day in the fall and National Engineering Week in the spring are organized and sponsored by the JEC with assistance from the Society of Women Engineers.
