Our Mission

The Joint Engineering Council of the University of Notre Dame (JECND) acts as the umbrella organization for all of the professional and honor societies at the University of Notre Dame. Here are a few of the functions we serve for the Notre Dame Community:

• We are one of the student councils recognized and organized annually by the National Association of Engineering Student Councils (NAESC).

• The council serves to represent the student body in the College of Engineering by working with the Deans and Department Heads as liasons. We work on several initiatives to promote diversity, service, and an inclusive environment.

• The JEC strives to encourage it's student body professionally with events such as Engineering Industry Day in the fall.

• We host several social events to encourage a welcoming and unified community within the College with events such as National Engineering Week and the Annual Legends Away Game Watch.

• JEC works in coordination with the societies of the College of Engineering to promote intermajor collaboration and to follow along with our slogan, "Engineers Unite!"

• Recently, we have expanded our events to go beyond an academic focus and have opened our events to the entire student body at the University of Notre Dame.
