Dear Prof. Douthwaite,

I just looked at the Angers SUNDEF website--it looks great, congratulations!  I especially love the photos and the alumni news.

A couple of things I'd love to see would be a bigger alumni section (perhaps we could simulate what the ND Magazine does and have news from each SUNDEF year in its own section), also I like how ND Magazine puts the names in bold so they stand out and you can scan the news for your friends names, and finally perhaps we could create a way for all of the SUNDEF alumni  to post news or notes to one another (e.g. some kind of message board for each year).  If there was a way to contact all the past SUNDEF alums and tell them about the webpage, I'm sure they'd love to see it.  If they're anything like me, they miss Angers lots and are thirsting for news about that beautiful city and their old friends that they studied with.

If you like, I have some news about myself that you can add to the "Success with International Studies" portion:  I was in SUNDEF XXXV, am a french major graduating this may, and I was accepted this fall into this program called the "Bank One Scholar Program," where I work in Chicago for Bank One full time in a rotational program for 2.5 years and they pay for me to go to business school at Northwestern's Kellogg School of Management (ranked #1 in the nation this year!).  I was accepted into Kellogg in February, and I start work this July! I am super excited, and nervous--I have never taken a business class before in my life. But they hired me for my liberal arts skills that I picked up from my French major, and from studying abroad, and I have faith that they knew what they were doing.  They've been hiring liberal arts majors into this program for over 20 years now, so they better!  Their philosophy is that it is easier to train a liberal arts major to be a business person than it is to train a business major to think, write, and speak well.  I think there's a certain amount of truth to that, but we'll see if it holds true come July!

At any rate, good luck with the website.  I'm sure it will be a huge success with aspiring Angevins and old alums like myself!

Take care and God bless,
Katie
