Josh Cole

I am a fourth-year graduate student at the University of Notre Dame studying computability theory with my advisor, Peter Cholak. In particular, I am interested in mass problems.

Spring 2008: Taught a weekly seminar on set theory for undergraduate honors majors in mathematics based on Jech's Introduction to Set Theory.
Fall 2007: Teaching Assistant for three sections of 12560, the tutorial for Calculus II, and captain of the TA's for the course.
Summer 2007: Instructor for 10250: Elements of Calculus I.
Fall 2006: Teaching Assistant for two sections of 12550, Calculus II, and captain of the TA's for the course.
Spring 2005: Teaching Assistant for two sections of 22580, Linear Algebra and Differential Equations.

Activities:
Summer 2008: seminar on Robert Soare's Recursively Enumerable Sets and Degrees.
From fall 2005 - spring 2008 I represented the mathematics department on the Graduate Student Union Council at Notre Dame.

Philosophical Interests:
I am fascinated by ethics; currently I am reading Dietrich von Hildebrand's Ethics.
