Previously, in its paper form, IFRT Report was mailed only to members of IFRT. With its conversion to electronic format, the IFRT Report can now reach a much wider audience at no additional cost. At the last Executive Board meeting in Toronto we voted unanimously to make the Report available free to the broader intellectual freedom community.

Therefore, if you are a longtime reader, it’s good to have you back. If you are a new reader, new to the round table or simply new to the Report, welcome aboard.

We encourage you to become involved – to be an active advocate of intellectual freedom in your communities and within the library profession. In particular, we invite you to join the Intellectual Freedom Round Table. You may find more information about our work as the grassroots, IF education and advocacy part of ALA at our website at http://tinyurl.com/2xwn7 and information on how to join up at http://tinyurl.com/24l23 .

Lastly, please consider contributing to this publication – not money but articles. Send us an account (long or short) of IF activities in your library or community. Write an essay. Tell us how you or your colleagues have “done good” (or bad). Prepare a guide to resources on a hot IF topic. Submission may be sent in any format (electronic, paper, carved on a brick, etc.) but WordPerfect or MSWord are preferred. OK, plain text ASCII will do too! The important thing is to educate – ourselves and our communities.
