FAMILIES ON THE BORDER

Las Fronterizas Working Group represents a forum where a small group of Latina scholars exchange ideas and expertise in an effort to present a national research agenda on families in the US/Mexico Borderlands. Our range of diversity as scholars in the fields of health and social welfare, sociology, political science, public policy and Mexican American studies enables us together to develop a comprehensive picture of the experiences and needs of families on the Border. Moreover, our status as Latina scholars adds a unique critical perspective to the definition and analysis of family issues on the US/Mexico Border. The information that we will generate has the potential to influence policy issues at all levels. Furthermore, the working group provides an excellent opportunity for AECF to leverage resources from the Foundation, IUPLR and multiple universities across the Southwest.
