DIRECTIONS TO O'CONNELL HOUSE FROM AIRPORT - To get FROM the airport TO O’Connell House (58 Merrion Square South) - Walk through the arrivals terminal following signs for the EXIT to car parks and AIRCOACH. You need to look for blue and orange signs for the AIRCOACH (blue shuttle bus). This is located just outside Arrivals Hall to the left as you exit the building. MAKE SURE YOU GET THE BUS THAT IS GOING TO: Airport to Ballsbridge.
Buy a return ticket for the AIRCOACH from the driver (€12 round trip) and tell him that you want to get off the coach at Merrion Square. Disembark at the American College, the northwest end of Merrion Square (an enclosed park). O’Connell House is located on the opposite end. Cross the street so you are walking alongside the park. Continue up the street, passing the National Gallery of Ireland on your right hand side. When you reach the end of the park take a left and walk down street until you reach No. 58 – O’Connell House. To gain entry, press the top buzzer button on the right hand side of the door. Please note opening hours are 9am-5pm Monday-Friday.
ACCOMMODATION - The accommodation is at Lad Lane Apartments [also called JBs], Cumberland Road, Fitzwilliam Square, Dublin 2. This is just off Leeson Street which is within easy walking distance of Merrion Square, where the Seminar is being held. If you have not visited Dublin or Ireland before, one option is to take/share a taxi directly to Lad Lane Apartments, Cumberland Road, Fitzwilliam Square, Dublin 2 with a fellow Irish Seminar participant. The cost of the taxi will be approximately €25 from the airport so sharing is a really good idea. It is also a good idea to agree the price beforehand.

Buy a return ticket for the AIRCOACH from the driver (€12 round trip) and tell him that you want to get off the coach at Lower Leeson Street. Disembark on Lower Leeson Street. Head southeast towards Leeson Close. Turn left at Fitzwilliam Place. Turn right at Cumberland Road. Continue down street until you meet a cross street called Lad Lane. JBs is the red brick building to your left, on the corner of Cumberland Road and Lad Lane.
You can always take/share a taxi directly to JBs, with a fellow Irish Seminar participant. The cost of the taxi will be approximately €25 from the airport so sharing is a good idea.
DIRECTIONS FROM JBs TO O'CONNELL HOUSE, 58 MERRION SQUARE (7 minutes on foot) - Exit JBs turning right onto Cumberland Road and right again onto Lad Lane. Continue straight down the street towards Pembroke Row. Turn left at Lower Baggot Street and then turn right onto Lower Fitzwilliam Street. Take the second left onto Merrion Square South. O’Connell House is located at number 58. To gain entry, press the top buzzer button on the right hand side of the door. Please note opening hours are 9am-5pm Monday-Friday (when term is in session - O’Connell House is open later on certain days).
