Industrial Organization

This course combines empirical evidence with economic theory to examine the organization of firms and the structure of industries.

A focus on markets and market power underlies the study of industrial organization. The sources of market power, the examination of how firms utilize and protect it, and government responses to market power are each a part of this course.

The course features the use of an integrating simulation; student-run companies compete with one another in a simulated industry.
