The archaeological site of Dhra', Jordan is a Pre-Pottery Neolithic A period (c. 11,700 - 10,500 calendar years before present) sedentary, agricultural, community in the Near East. It is currently being excevated under the direction of Ian Kuijt of the University of Notre Dame and William Finlayson director of the Council for British Research in the Levant. Excavations during the summers of 2002 through 2005 will recover data necessary to evaluate the applicability of two explanations for the transition from foraging to farming in the Near East. This site contains information about the excavations and information for application information for individuals interested in attending the fieldschool.
